Integration detail

Appetier + Instagram integration

On Instagram, the bio link is the one tap that leads to ordering, and you set it once. Appetier fills the feed with posts about your own dishes.

What works

With your access: Sign in with Meta and pick the Facebook Page linked to your Business or Creator account. Appetier publishes the feed posts and Reels you approve and reads their views, likes, and comments. It never edits your bio.

On our own: Without access, Appetier still drafts the captions, hashtags, and Reels from your own photos and menu for you to post yourself.

What it does

Publishes the feed posts and Reels you approve, built from your own photos and menu.

Who it's for

Restaurants that want regular Instagram posts without writing every caption.

Feed posts and Reels from your own photos

Appetier drafts each post around one dish, with a caption that leads with it and ends with up to five hashtags. A post can be one photo or a carousel. A Reel needs video, so Appetier uses a video you uploaded or builds a vertical one from your dish photos. Every frame is your own photo or video. It drafts up to three posts a week.

An Instagram post can't be taken back

Instagram's publishing API has no way to delete a post. So before you approve one, Appetier marks it as a post that can't be undone. Once a post is live, the Marketing tab shows its views, likes, and comments. Replies to comments, direct messages, and paid promotion stay with you.

The bio link is yours to set, once

Instagram's API lets outside tools read a profile but not edit it. So Appetier never touches your bio, your bio link, or your profile photo. Set the link yourself in the Instagram app. Use your storefront address, since a link page only adds a tap before checkout. For a group, point each location's account at that location's storefront page. Menu and price changes never break that address.

What access requires

Instagram connects through Meta's consent screen, and it needs a Business or Creator account linked to your Facebook Page. One approval connects the Page and the Instagram account together.

Switching to a professional account

Instagram calls the switch "Switch to professional account" and asks you to choose Business or Creator. Either one connects to Appetier. A personal account cannot connect, because Instagram's publishing API only serves professional ones.

Common questions

Can Appetier change our Instagram bio link?
No. Instagram's API exposes profile details read-only, so you set the bio link in the app. Use your storefront address.
Does Appetier post to Instagram for us?
Yes, once Instagram is connected. It drafts up to three posts a week from your own photos and menu, and publishes each one you approve.
What does Instagram access require?
A Business or Creator account linked to your Facebook Page. You then approve on Meta's consent screen.
Do we need to write code to use Instagram's API?
No. Instagram's publishing API is for connected tools. You approve once on Meta's consent screen, and Appetier drafts and publishes only what you approve.
