Switching guide

Switch restaurant online ordering to Appetier, step by step

Read your contract, bring your data, connect your POS, and point ordering at your domain. A first location goes live in minutes.

How to switch online ordering, from contract to exit bill

Each step links the page it rests on. You can start the second one before you finish the first.

  1. 1

    Read your contract

Look for the notice period, the end date, and any charge to leave. A charge to leave can earn a switching credit.

  2. 2

Start from a logo and a menu photo

Upload both, or start from your website. Appetier styles your site and apps from the logo colors and reads the menu off the photo.

    Audit your website
  3. 3

    Bring your data

Menu and photos, guest list, loyalty members, and gift card balances all come over. You supply each file and see a preview before anything loads.

  4. 4

Connect your POS if you use one

Appetier is open by design, so your POS stays. Where it gives read and write access, Appetier writes each order into it. Read access only means orders are fulfilled in Appetier, on its order screen and kitchen display. No access means Appetier POS, included in Growth.

  5. 5

    Point ordering at your domain

Ordering goes on an address like order.yourplace.com, and your website stays yours. One short change at your domain host points it there.

    Send the exit bill

If leaving cost you a charge, send that bill once to ask for the switching credit.

Data migration: what comes with you

Appetier never signs in to your old provider. You export the files, and you see a preview of each one first.

  • Menu and photos

Appetier reads your menu from a photo or your website and holds it as a draft for you to confirm. Your photos upload as files.

  • Guest list

Upload the guest file you export. An import signs no guest up for marketing, and a guest keeps only the consent your file records.

  • Loyalty members

Upload the exported file, and each member claims their points with the same email. Points only, up to 10,000 rows a file.

  • Gift card balances

Upload the balances, and check the count and the total owed before they load.

A credit toward Growth fees when leaving costs you

If you pay a charge to leave another online ordering contract, send that bill and you can receive a credit toward your Growth fees. The credit is not cash, applies to Growth fees only, and is once per restaurant, up to a maximum. Sending a bill does not guarantee a credit.

A sign-up checklist: have these four ready

The first two get you live. The last two can wait until after launch.

  • Your logo

Appetier styles your storefront and apps from its colors.

  • A menu photo or your website

Either one is enough. Appetier reads the menu and holds it as a draft.

  • POS access, if you use a POS

With read and write access, Appetier writes each order into your POS. Read access only means orders are fulfilled in Appetier, and no access means Appetier POS, included in Growth.

  • Your domain

Know who you pay for it. One short change at that host puts ordering at an address like order.yourplace.com.

Start the switch with your own restaurant

Take a test drive with your website, or start free with a logo and a menu photo. Nothing is charged until direct orders come in.
