Hardware

POS hardware for restaurants: readers from us, tablets and screens your own

Run the POS, kiosk, kitchen display, and menu boards on tablets and screens you already own. Add a card reader from us to take cards on Appetier Pay.

Countertop payment terminals and card readers, from us

Each reader below takes cards on Appetier Pay, sold at the store price. Handheld, countertop, unattended, or pocket: open one for what it suits and its full specification.

A POS station for the counter

The PAX Elys Workstation L1400 is a countertop POS with a 14-inch touchscreen. It has no card reader built in, so it pairs with any reader we sell.

Bring your own tablets and screens

Use the tablets and screens you have, or buy from any vendor. Beyond card readers, we sell a kiosk and a kitchen display, at cost.

01

POS tablets

Appetier POS runs on an iPad or Android tablet you already own. Lock an Android tablet to Appetier from your console; an iPad uses Guided Access.

02

Kiosk tablets and stands

The self-order kiosk runs on your own tablet in any stand you pick. Prefer one machine? Order the Elo kiosk from us at cost. Add the IM30 reader from our list to take cards at the kiosk.

Kitchen and menu board screens

The kitchen display runs on a tablet, and menu boards run on any TV with a browser. Or order the PAX Elys Display and PB20 bump bar from us at cost.

From console to first card

Readers go to restaurants that take cards on Appetier Pay. You order them from your console.

  • Start free and turn on Appetier Pay in the console
  • Order the reader and how many you need from your console
  • Assign the reader to a location and take a card
The Card readers page in the console. Three reader cards show a photo, a store price, and a quantity, with two of one reader and one of another picked. Under them, the order review lists each line and the order total.

Before you pick a reader

Can I use a card reader I already own?
Yes, on your own merchant account, if your provider's reader can connect to Appetier by API, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi. Appetier Pay takes cards in person only on a reader bought from us. Your tablet, phone, printer, cash drawer, and screens still work.
Do I have to buy a tablet or screen from Appetier?
No. The POS, kiosk, kitchen display, and menu boards run on tablets and screens you own or buy anywhere. Appetier also sells a kiosk and a kitchen display at cost, if you want one.
What does a reader cost?
Each page shows its price. It is the store price with no Appetier markup. The card fees for in-person sales show in the console before you accept them.
Which reader works on a kiosk?
Any reader except the D135. The rest work on a browser kiosk, a POS, or a table-side screen. The IM30 is the one built to mount in a kiosk.
Does the D135 work without a phone?
No. The D135 connects to your own phone or tablet and runs only in the Appetier app. A browser screen cannot use it, and it works in the United States only.
Do online orders have to use Appetier Pay too?
No. Online checkout can stay on the processor you already use. Appetier Pay in person works only on a reader bought from us.
