Digital menu boards

Digital menu boards that change when your menu does

Point a TV or tablet at your menu board and it shows your items, prices, and photos in your colors. Sold-out dishes drop off within a minute.

A wrong menu board sends guests back to ask

Most boards are a file someone has to edit.

  • A price changes and the board still shows the old one.
  • An item sells out and guests keep asking for it.
  • Each new special means a designer or a USB stick.
  • The pickup crowd asks the counter whether their order is up.

Digital menu boards for restaurants, drawn from the menu you already keep

The board reads the same menu as your ordering site, so there's no second copy to update.

01

Your menu on a wide screen

Categories, items, prices, and photos from that location's menu, laid out for a TV in your colors.

02

Sold-out items hide themselves

Mark a dish sold out and it leaves the board within a minute. It returns when you bring it back.

03

Pages and a promo slide

A long menu rotates across pages. Add a promo slide from a campaign you already run, with the photo it already uses.

04

A QR code that takes the order

Every menu board shows a code that opens your menu on a guest's phone, with no sign-up in the way. You see the orders the board brought in.

05

An order ready screen for pickup

A second layout lists orders as preparing and ready. It shows the order code and a first name, never a phone number or what was ordered.

06

Any screen you own

Run a board on a tablet, or in the browser of a smart TV or streaming stick. It fills the screen and gives guests nothing to tap.

Three steps to a restaurant menu board on your screen

You need a screen with a browser and a menu in Appetier.

01

Pick the layout

In the console, choose a menu board or an order ready screen for the location.

02

Pair the screen

Open the board on the TV or tablet and enter the code the console gives you.

03

Change the menu, not the board

Edit an item, a price, or a photo in your menu. The board follows.

The board shows the same menu guests order from

01

One menu, matched to your POS

Connect Square, Toast, or Clover, and prices and sold-out items follow your POS onto the board.

See POS sync

02

Orders from the code

A guest who scans the board orders and pays on your own site.

03

Codes on the table too

Put a code on each table, and the table number reaches the kitchen.

See QR code menu

04

Tickets for the kitchen

Orders from the board show up as tickets on a kitchen tablet.

See kitchen display system

Preview the menu a board would show

Run the test drive on your website and Appetier builds a private preview of your restaurant. Its menu is the one a board would show.

Connect a POS and the board shows its prices

Connecting a POS is optional. When you connect one, the menu and its prices sync from it, and the board shows what the register charges.

Digital menu board FAQs

What owners ask before they hang a screen.

What do digital menu boards cost with Appetier?
Nothing extra. Menu boards and the order ready screen come with Growth and Enterprise. Growth has no monthly fee, and its 5% fee on direct orders stops at $199 a month per location.
What hardware do I need for a digital menu board?
A screen with a web browser. A tablet works, and so does a smart TV or a streaming stick plugged into one. Appetier doesn't sell screens or mounts.
Is this digital menu board software or a design tool?
It's software that lays out your live menu. There's no video or motion editor. Slides use your menu photos and the images from your campaigns.
How fast does a sold-out item leave the board?
Within a minute of being marked sold out. Hours and sold-out changes don't wait for you to publish.
What does the order ready screen show?
Order codes in two columns, preparing and ready, with a first name when the guest gave one. An order leaves ten minutes after it's ready, or when it's completed.
Do orders from the board's QR code carry a fee?
They're direct orders, so they count toward the Growth fee and its monthly cap. With no direct orders in a month, there's no fee.
Can each location have its own board?
Yes. A board shows the menu, prices, and sold-out items of the location it's paired to.
