Gift cards
Online gift cards for restaurants, sold on your own site
Guests buy a gift card on your site and the recipient gets it by email. It pays at your checkout, and the console shows what you still owe.

Plastic cards only sell while the doors are open
A gift is often bought late, from a phone, for someone across town.
- A guest who wants to send a gift has to drive over.
- Balances live on a paper log by the register.
- Nobody knows how much is still unspent.
- A card bought in person can't pay for an online order.
E gift cards for restaurants, from purchase to the last dollar
The card is a code tied to your restaurant. Guests buy it on your own site and spend it with you.
01
A gift card page on your site
Guests choose an amount and pay by card. The purchase happens on your site, under your name and colors.
02
Sent to the recipient by email
The buyer enters who it's for, and the recipient gets the card and its code by email.
03
Spent at your checkout
A guest enters the code when they order. If the card covers the order, there's nothing left to pay, and any remainder goes on their card.
04
Spent at your register too
Your cashier takes the card as a gift card payment, so sales and tax totals stay right. It works on Square and Shopify, where the guest shows a short code from their phone.
05
A balance guests can check
Anyone holding a code can look up what's left on it.
06
What you owe, in the console
The console lists every card and each time it was used. It totals the balance still outstanding and the balance sitting unused.
07
Cards issued by hand
An owner, admin, or manager can issue a card from the console, for a make-good or a prize. No one else on the team can.
Sous reads the balances and leaves the money alone
Gift cards hold real money, so Sous only looks.
01
It sees unused balances
When Sous suggests a campaign, it can take into account the gift card balances guests haven't spent.
02
It never moves a balance
Sous never issues, redeems, or refunds a gift card. Those stay with the people you trust with the register.

01

02
Publish your menu
The gift card page appears once your storefront has items to order.
03
Share the page
Link it from your site, your emails, and your Google listing before the holidays.
A gift card is a first order waiting to happen
03
A message at the right time
Email and text campaigns built from your order history.

The test drive builds a private preview of your restaurant from your website. Its checkout is where a gift card code goes.
Gift cards run on the card processor you choose
Guests pay for a gift card the way they pay for an order: through your own processor, or through Stripe at its standard 2.9% + 30¢. Appetier adds no markup.
