QR code menu

A QR code menu guests order and pay from at the table

Print a code for each table. Guests scan it, read your live QR code menu, order, and pay on their phone, and the kitchen sees the table.

Works withand any system that gives you API access

A PDF behind a code is still a PDF

Most QR menus show a picture of the printed one.

  • Prices change and the file doesn't.
  • Guests pinch and zoom to read it.
  • Nobody can order from it, so the table still waits.
  • A sold-out dish stays on it all night.

A QR code menu for restaurants that takes the order too

The code opens the same menu your ordering site uses, set to that table.

01

A code for every table

Add your tables in the console and give each a label. Appetier prints a sheet with one code per table.

02

The live menu, not a file

Guests see current prices, photos, and what's sold out. A published change reaches open menus within about a minute.

03

Order and pay from the seat

A guest orders and pays by card or wallet, and can add a tip. There's no app to install first.

04

The table reaches the kitchen

Each order carries its table's label, so the runner knows where the food goes.

05

Another round, same code

Guests scan again to order more. Each round is its own paid order, so there are no open tabs to close.

06

Tables you can switch off

Appetier accepts a table order only for a table that belongs to that location and is switched on. Turn a table off and its code stops taking orders.

07

Allergens on every item

Items list the nine major allergens as contains or may contain, once you've confirmed them.

QR code ordering goes live table by table

Table ordering has its own switch for each location.

01

Add your tables

Name each table the way your staff does: T4, Patio 2, Bar 6.

02

Print the sheet

Print the codes from the console and put one on each table.

03

Run the floor

Orders arrive with their table, and each one is already paid.

01

Tickets with the table on them

Table orders show on the kitchen tablet beside every other order.

02

A code on the wall

Menu boards carry a code that opens the same menu for guests in line.

03

Points for guests who scan

A guest can join your rewards while they pay.

Open your QR menu on your own phone first

Take the test drive and your website becomes a private Appetier preview. Open it on your phone and you're looking at the menu a table code would show.

With a POS connected, the code shows its items and prices

Connecting a POS is optional. With Square, Toast, or Clover connected, the items and prices guests see at the table come from your POS.

QR code menu FAQs

What owners ask before the codes go on the tables.

Is the QR code menu free?
The menu and table ordering come with Growth, which has no monthly fee. Orders placed from a table are direct orders. They count toward the 5% fee, which stops at $199 a month per location.
Can guests read the QR menu without ordering?
Yes. Scanning opens the menu. Ordering is there when they want it.
Do guests need an app or an account?
No app. The code opens in the phone's browser, and guests pay without creating an account.
Can a table keep a tab open?
No. Each round is paid when it's ordered. There are no open tabs, and the bill can't be split between guests.
Does QR code ordering replace servers?
No. It takes the order and the payment. Someone still runs the food, and the table label tells them where.
What if a table's code gets damaged?
Print the sheet again from the console. You can also switch a table off, and its code stops taking orders.
Does it work with a seating chart or reservations?
Table ordering has no table map. Reservations and the waitlist are a separate feature on your own site.
