Kitchen display system

A kitchen display system (KDS) for every order, on a tablet you own

The kitchen display shows direct, marketplace, and table orders as tickets, oldest first. One tap starts a ticket, and a second marks it ready.

Works withand any system that gives you API access

The line reads orders from too many places

Each channel brings its own printer or screen.

  • Paper tickets pile up and go missing in a rush.
  • Delivery orders arrive on screens of their own.
  • Nobody can tell which ticket has waited longest.
  • A finished order sits because the counter didn't hear.

A kitchen display system for restaurants that take orders everywhere

Every order lands in one list, with what the cook needs to make it.

01

Tickets, oldest first

Each ticket shows the channel, the promised time, the items, their modifiers, and any notes. A table order carries its table, and a pickup order the guest's name.

02

Two taps per ticket

The first tap marks a ticket preparing and the second marks it ready. The guest's order status follows.

03

Timers that change color

Every ticket counts up from when the kitchen accepted it. It turns amber, then red, at the minutes you set.

04

Stations

Assign menu categories to a station, and a tablet at the grill shows only the grill's items.

05

Recall a cleared ticket

The last 20 ready orders stay within reach for 30 minutes, so a ticket cleared by mistake comes back.

06

English or Spanish, per tablet

Each kitchen tablet picks its own language. The counter and the line don't have to match.

A kitchen display screen is paired in minutes

There's no app store download. The display opens in the tablet's browser and can sit on its home screen.

01

Open the pairing code

In the console, start a kitchen pairing for the location. It shows a QR code and six digits.

02

Scan it with the tablet

Scanning opens the kitchen display already paired. Typing the six digits works too.

03

Set your timers and stations

Choose when a ticket turns amber and red, and which categories each station sees.

What a kitchen ticket lists, on your own menu

The test drive turns your website into a private Appetier preview, with your menu and your colors. Those are the items a kitchen ticket shows.

A connected POS still prints its tickets

Connecting a POS is optional. With one connected, orders also print there as tickets. The kitchen display is one more place to read them, and your POS keeps running the counter.

Kitchen display system FAQs

What owners ask before a tablet goes on the line.

How much does the kitchen display system cost?
Nothing extra on Growth or Enterprise, and there's no fee per screen. Growth has no monthly fee, and its fee on direct orders stops at $199 a month per location.
What hardware does a KDS system need?
A tablet you already own, with a current browser. Appetier doesn't sell tablets, mounts, or bump bars.
Do I have to install an app?
No. The display is a web app you open in the browser and add to the tablet's home screen. It isn't in the App Store or Google Play.
Does the kitchen display show marketplace orders?
Yes. DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub orders show in the same list as orders from your own site, each labeled with its channel.
Can I run more than one kitchen display screen?
Yes. Pair a tablet for each station. Each one can show every ticket or only its station's items.
What happens if a cook marks the wrong ticket ready?
Recall it. The last 20 ready orders can be brought back for 30 minutes.
Does the kitchen display replace my POS?
No. It shows the orders that come through Appetier. Your POS keeps running the counter, and a connected POS still prints its tickets.
