Integration detail

Appetier + Toast integration

Your menu stays matched to Toast with no double entry, and Toast stays your register. Toast standard API access is read only, so Appetier reads from Toast and never changes anything in it.

What works

With your access: A Toast admin with the Manage Integrations permission, on Restaurant Management Suite Essentials or higher, creates read only API credentials and pastes them into Appetier. Appetier then reads menu items, prices, stock status, and closed sales. It changes nothing in Toast, and direct orders are fulfilled in Appetier with no ticket sent to Toast.

On our own: Appetier takes direct orders on your storefront and fulfills them on its order and kitchen screens. Or run Appetier POS, free in Growth, on your own hardware.

What it does

Appetier reads item prices, stock status, and closed sales for each mapped location. It never changes a price, a stock status, or a ticket in Toast.

Who it's for

Toast restaurants that want direct ordering on their own site while Toast stays the register.

What Appetier reads from Toast

Appetier reads menu items with their prices, and each item's stock status: in stock, out of stock, or a set quantity left. It also reads closed orders as item names, quantities, and prices. Voided and deleted checks are left out. Guest names, phone numbers, and card digits are never read.

Orders and payment stay in Appetier

Guests order and pay at your Appetier storefront. Appetier does not send an order to Toast as a ticket, and Toast's payment processing is never involved. Orders are fulfilled in Appetier. Your Toast register keeps running as it does today.

How far a sales question reaches

Sous answers sales questions from Toast, such as what sold best last Friday at one location. Ask about at most 31 days per question. One answer reads up to 1,000 orders and says so when a location sold more.

What connecting takes

A Toast admin with the Manage Integrations permission, on Restaurant Management Suite Essentials or higher, creates read only API credentials in Toast. You paste them into Appetier, then map your Toast restaurants to your locations in the console.

Common questions

Do we paste Toast credentials into Appetier?
Yes. A Toast admin with the Manage Integrations permission creates read only credentials in Toast and pastes them into Appetier. You then map your Toast restaurants to your locations.
Can Sous change items or prices in Toast?
No. Toast standard access is read only. Sous can read Toast, and any change you ask for is made in Appetier.
Does our storefront depend on Toast access?
No. Your Appetier storefront goes live in minutes and takes direct orders with or without Toast. Toast access adds reads of menus, stock, and sales.
Does Appetier send our orders to the Toast register?
No. Orders are fulfilled in Appetier, so a direct order does not print as a Toast ticket.
